Choose Life Not Death

1 The Bible verses at Deuteronomy 30:19-20 beautifully exemplify the profound compassion God feels for His wayward people. It’s as though He is pleading with them to choose life instead of death. How can this be accomplished? What is God asking of them? Only to demonstrating their love for Him through attentive listening to His voice and by their steadfast loyalty towards Him. One Bible translation reads, “You must choose life so that you may live, you and your descendants”. For reference, consider the “World English Bible” [WEB] version, which states:

19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life, that you may live, you and your descendants, 20 to love Yahweh your God, to obey his voice, and to cling to him; for he is your life, and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

You Must Choose Life – How Bible Snippet Helps

2 John 17:3 imparts a crucial teaching about the choice between life and death. Moreover, within this heartfelt prayer of Jesus lies a potent and truthful assertion about the attainment of eternal life. He articulates, “This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God…

3 While everlasting life is indeed significant, it isn’t the pinnacle of existence. Why so? Imagine possessing eternal life, yet lacking a harmonious relationship with God – it would be incomplete. And we would suffer as we do now. It’s the process of knowing Him, building a friendship with the divine, that truly ignites a desire for eternal existence within us. Just as He once blessed the patriarch Job, God will bless us all one day. Indeed, it’s through our knowledge and relationship with God that we find genuine joy in our lives.

4 As you nurture your love of God, you’ll realize that “everlasting life” is merely a natural outcome of that profound affection. So rather we die and are resurrected or if we are called to paradise by our grand creator Satan’s world will then be behind us. And we’ll have gained back what Adam and Eve lost. This is, living forever in “The Paradise of God”.
