Do Animals have rights? Who gave them that right? Moreover, did they have the authority to give animals these rights? Another thing, do humans have the right to kill animals? If so, who gave them their right? Moreover, did they have the authority to give humans these rights?
“Further, God blessed them [Adam and Eve], and God said to them: . . . and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.”—Genesis 1:28
Why are the above questions so important for Christians? Because there are so many opinions about animal-rights today. Opinions that sometimes sound very convincing, while at the same time, may go to great extremes. And in forming our own opinion we could find ourselves working against God. Shouldn’t we then look to God for these answers?
