What Common Sense Tells Us About: Is the Bible Worth Our Time?
1 Rather you believe the Bible is from God or men, you have to admit that it’s well worth investigating. The time and effort spent to read and study it is life changing in so many valuable, practical, and positive ways. Especially when you have someone helping you who knows their Bible well enough to enlighten your understanding.
2 The real life stories the Bible has throughout its pages, together with the practical values it offers today, and has for thousands of years, have passed the test of time. When compared to the ever changing “self-help” books we find on the market today, the Bible is beyond compare.

How Science Makes the Bible Worth Studying
3 For example: It’s absolutely fascinating when you begin reading the opening pages of Genesis. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (—Genesis 1:1)
4 The “Creation Period” helps us realize that perhaps the Bible is indeed well worth our time to read and study.
Go Back In Time To See If The Bible Is Worth Studying
5 Let me take you back. Back to a period when our material universe didn’t exist. Imagine you are looking into nothingness. Everywhere you look is nothing but emptiness —not even a speck of dust, (more below).
6 Now, using our common sense reasoning ability, think about this, scientists generally agree that our material universe had a beginning. So one day there was nothingness and the next day we had our entire material universe. Of course, I’m speaking in terms we can understand, because no one knows how long these Biblical days were. But the fact still remains, our universe went from nothing to a full material universe over some period of time. From nothing to something –according to science. (more below)
7 Since it’s a scientific fact that nothing produces nothing, then the reverse would have to be true —that is: “something has to come from something or be created”. Why? Because as already stated, science has proven it to be a fact that nothing cannot produce one single thing —it’s a fact of scientific law.
8 Then what would a reasoning person conclude? That something had to create our material universe, something so powerful that it used its own energy to produce it. A reasoning person would also say that this powerful being had to be intelligent beyond man’s ability to comprehend. So what’s wrong with calling this powerful something God?
9 Again, rather you believe the Bible is from God or not, you have to accept this truth. The opening words of Genesis is definitely an eye opener because those words has proven to be true for more than 6,000 years.
