“Speech, a Gift From God…”
Is human speech a gift? Or did man perhaps develop it over millions of years? If it is the latter, does that mean that alligators will one day talk? Of course not!
Did you know that when Moses asked God about him having to speak to the powerful Pharaoh of Egypt, God replied; “. . . “Who made a mouth for man; “. . . “Who made a mouth for man . . .” (Exodus 4:10-11) Therefore, if God made the mouth, it must be reasonable to believe that God also gave us the free gift of speech?
Moreover, because speech is a gift from a loving God, it seems reasonable that we would want to ask that same God for his direction on how and when to use it. (Ex. 4:10, 11; Rev. 4:11) It would also seem reasonable that the answers would be in God’s word, His Holy Bible -Right?
“There is . . . a time to be silent and a time to speak.”—Ecclesiastes 3:1, and Ecclesiastes 3:7.
There are many benefits for us—when we use our speech in a way that pleases God.
