Speech is a gift from Jehovah. (See Ex. 4:10, 11; Rev. 4:11) His Word helps us to understand how to use our gift in a kind and caring way.
1 Pet. 3:15, tells us: “… Sanctify the Christ as Lord in your hearts, always ready to make a defense [as Christians] before everyone who demands of you a reason for the hope you have, but doing so with a mild temper and deep respect”.
This scriptures here sets the pattern for Christians today. They teach us to consider others feelings as well as their beliefs.
One of the main reasons Jesus came to earth was to tell others the truth. This is clear from what Jesus told Pilate right before he was put to death. Pilate asked Jesus if he was a king and Jesus replied: “…For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.
Christians are honored to do the same. Therefore, we use our time whenever the occasion arises, to use our god given gift of speech to tell others the truth of God’s word. (Listen to our Podcast: When Is the Right Time to Speak?)
